We have not only actively participated in the Oslo Process since February last year, but we are also satisfied with the result, which has culminated in the signing of the Convention on Cluster Munitions here in Oslo today. South Africa has in its stocks a relatively small stockpile of outdated cluster munitions. Our people dissociated themselves from the displacement from our various communities of more than 40 000 South African citizens and foreign nationals. The displaced people were put in temporary shelters, after they themselves had sought refuge at police stations, community and church halls.
