The MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation in the Free State, Mr Dan Kgothule, hereby announces that the term of office of Phakisa Major Sport Events and Development Corporation Board has expired. Consequently, a new board will be appointed in due course in line with section 5 of the Phakisa Major Sport Events and Development Corporation Act, 1997 (Act No. 4 of 1997). MEC Kgothule will assume all the responsibilities of the board as from now until appointment of the new board.

In the Free State we have four dominant languages, being Sesotho, Afrikaans, English and IsiXhosa, with Sesotho as the most spoken language, by 64 percent of the Free State population.
