The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture is proud to be sending a group of gymnasts from Limpopo to the 13th World Gymnaestrada to be held in Dornbirn, Austria from Sunday, 8 to Saturday, 14 July 2007. The team consists of 53 participants, 34 of whom were selected from various hubs in the districts of Limpopo through Sport and Recreation's Siyadlala Mass Participation programme and 19 hailing from the Limpopo Gymnastics Federation. J Mashamba: Limpopo Budget 2006/07

Honourable Speaker, health gets an allocation of R5.448 billion or 23.7 percent of the total provincial budget which includes the conditional grant of R509 million. Social development gets an allocation of R432 million or 1.8 percent of the budget. J Mashamba: Limpopo Treasury Prov Budget Vote 2005/2006

The provincial Own Revenue budget increased from an adjusted Revenue budget of R361 million to R378 million, which represents an increase of 4,7% or R17 million. The budget also provides for primary health care in rural municipalities to the tune of R11 million, R17 million and R23 million over the MTEF period. A dark cloud has befallen the people of Limpopo and indeed of the continent of Africa. As a government and people of Limpopo we wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to the Modjadji Royal family and the Balobedu people for the blow they have suffered. The people of Limpopo pride themselves with the Modjadji dynasty which has always remained the only Royal House in Africa where a woman reigns supreme as a Queen, with supernatural powers capable of making rain.
