V Shongwe on withdrawal of sexual abuse cases during 16 days of activism campaign launch

Acting MEC for Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison Mr Vusi Shongwe has urged victims of abuse not to withdraw reported cases from the police stations.Shongwe was addressing people who came to witness the launch of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children campaign held at Mangweni in the Nkomazi Municipality.The MEC said people needed to utilise government resources prudently by being at the forefront in the fight against crime."... V Shongwe: Mpumalanga Culture, Sport and Recreation Prov budget vote 2010/11

As the Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation, we have identified and selected young people who will serve as volunteers during the world cup. The groups were identified during the Tjhagalani Kusephuka Tidzindzi Arts and Culture Festival that the department hosts annually in Bethal to identify talent in the province.

V Shongwe: Mpumalanga Culture, Sport and Recreation Prov budget vote 2009/10

Together we can make our province and country a better place for all as the Lion of the East musical depicts.

Honourable speaker, we are still in a celebratory mood in the province after Mpumalanga Black Aces ensured that never again shall Mpumalanga be ridiculed for lacking a representation in the elite football league in the country, the Premier Soccer League (PSL). We have set aside R600 000 for this purpose.
